28-year-old Stevie Foehl and her boyfriend, 26-year-old Michael Emory were convicted of filming each other sexually abusing a 1-year-old girl and received life imprisonment sentences on Thursday.
The Michigan pair, pleaded guilty to sex crime charges in January. Back then, the police were investigating the couple on separate sex abuse charges when they found the despicable videos of the sexual assault on the baby girl who was a daughter of a friend, on Emory’s computer.
Judge, Dennis Lieber talked about this horrible case which ended with Emory getting three consecutive life sentences and Foehl receiving life in prison:
‘I don’t know how to quantify the horror this child was put through.’
Actually, the investigation on the dreadful couple began when Emory was accused of sexual abuse back in February, 2013. At that time, the parents of a 14-year-old reported to the police an alleged sexual assault on their daughter, who offered her services as a baby sitter. Emory and Foehl abandoned their apartment in Alpine Township but the graphic videos which even experienced investigators found difficult to watch, remained there only for the officers to discover. The fleeing couple was arrested in August of the same year by the local authorities and the FBI, while they were hiding in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
‘To a person, this is the worst, one of the worst child sex cases they’ve had to work’, Kent County Undersheriff John Hess told WZZM.
