According to USA Today, Amy Pascal is currently preparing for her exit interview as the co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, as the executive now plans on setting up her own production venture and will be starting the new job in May.
This news is coming a few months after private and embarrassing emails, including jokes about President Barrack Obama, were leaked following Sony’s targeted cyber attack, one of the largest corporate hacking scandals in history by the “Guardians of Peace”. The group had threatened to cause more damage if the movie, “The Interview” at the heart of this scandal was not with withdrawn from public release. Click here if you missed it!
Although, Sony decided to release “The Interview“, starring Seth Rogen and James Rogen, online and in selected theaters, grossing about $18 million from its December release, Pascal still had to deal with the consequences of the scandal. In a statement released by Pascal, she said: “I have spent almost my entire professional life at Sony Pictures and I am energized to be starting this new chapter based at the company I call home.”
