Crazy Wedding Advise from Uncle: “On Your Wedding Night, Lock Your Wife in a Room and Beat Her” for Complete Submission – Watch!!
Yesterday, we posted the photos and video highlights as Prince Stanley Atuma, and Dr. Uche Anosike sealed their love at a beautiful wedding ceremony in Dallas, TX. (Click Here if you missed it).
While preaching at the Wedding Ceremony, Pastor Femi Omotayo of Jesus House Dallas in his sermon, shared with the newly wedded couple the importance of weighing carefully the advise received from others as it concerns one’s marriage. Pastor Omotayo particularly placed an emphasis on a narrative that brings to light how careful young couples should be of the advice they receive, even if the advice is coming from a respectable and loved family member, which could include parents, uncles and aunties.
The story Pastor Femi shared was that of a young groom that received an advise from his uncle to give his wife the “beating of her life” on their wedding night (after the bride’s family formally brings her to the groom), to pass a message of intimidation to the point of submission to the new wife on the first day so that she will never argue with the man!
“and Jesus Christ says, anyone who hears my words, and does them, is like a man who builds his house upon a rock. He didn’t say anyone who hears the word of Oprah, or anyone who hears the words of Dr Phill, not the words of Cosmo, and certainly not GQ. Amen!! Sometimes not even the words of the people who love us.. can be an acceptable foundation. “
Then he went on to tell the story and share an example which he always shares at weddings he officiates, the story is that of an advice that was given out of love from an uncle of the groom, and it was interesting because I could see an ignorant and secluded narrow-minded uncle given that advice. In this part of the world ‘United States’, that advice would be regarded as mental or extreme.. But low and behold, this advice was given in Nigeria, which makes even more believable.”
