Appearing on today’s (Feb 18) episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the multiple Grammy winner, Adele, revealed that she “cried pretty much all day” after the 2016 Grammys.
Performing 25 track “All I Ask,” Adele’s set got off to a shaky start when the “piano mics fell on to the piano strings,” according to a post-Grammys tweet from the U.K. singer-songwriter. After that, Adele’s typically astounding voice sounded a bit off for the rest of the performance.
It threw the whole thing off,” Adele admitted to Ellen. “Next time I have any sound issues, I am going to start over. [I will tell them] ‘sorry, that’s not working for me.’ Otherwise… bye!” she added, laughing.
“In fairness I would have cried if it went really well. If it was a standout performance, I would have cried as well. I always cry,” Adele said. “I was so embarrassed…. It can’t get much worse than the Grammys.”
Despite the embarrassing sound issues, Adele’s live vocal prowess is well documented, and based on the immediate social media response, people seem to understand that her Grammy performance was an aberration and not the norm for her.
