The horrible father of a 5-year-old girl stopped his car, pulled his daughter from the back seat and then threw her off from Florida’s Sunshine Skyway Bridge into the bay almost 60 feet below, police said on Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, the officers investigating the case have not yet concluded on what may have led the 25-year-old John Nicholas Jonchuck to throw his daughter, Phoebe into the waters. According to police records, Jonchuck was separated from Phoebe’s mother and the two had a rocky relationship. Jonchuck had custody of Phoebe and they lived with his father in Tampa.
Just after midnight, Jonchuck was witnessed by the police, speeding towards the bridge at 100 mph. When an officer got close to him, Jonchuck had already pulled over. He got out, stared towards the policeman who pulled his weapon and then all of a sudden he took the unfortunate girl from the passenger back seat and tossed her over the bridge’s railing! Phoebe’s body was found 1 hour and a half later by the rescue crews who unsuccessfully tried to revive her. She was pronounced dead at 2:44 a.m. while the autopsy is still pending.
Officers then chased Jonchuck and eventually arrested him after using traffic spikes to stop him. The dreadful father faces first-degree murder charges as well as charges for aggravated assault with a motor vehicle on a law enforcement officer and aggravated fleeing and eluding police. His first court hearing is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
