The Amobi Okoye Foundation Gala was a send-off gala, for the foundation’s 2011 Changing Africa Through Education (C.A.T.E) trip to Nigeria. It also proved to be a special evening that highlighted the good deeds of a global Philanthropist. As Mayor Don Elder of Katy, Texas mentioned in his address to the audience, “It is not the size of the car that you drive or the amount of money that you have in the bank, but that you’ve helped someone along life’s way.” This statement is in direct connection with the young 23 year old NFL football star Amobi Okoye, as his foundation has been a blessing to so many people in need.
